The Elm Street Hatboro Plan was developed by the State of Pa. and adopted by Hatboro Boro Council in April of 2006 to provide State Funds to improve the residential, industrial and commercial areas within Hatboro.

By working with Hatboro Borough Council, Main Street Hatboro, and all the local charitable organizations, Elm Street can apply for County, State and Federal grants, and use fundraisers to improve these local areas.

ELM STREET HATBORO is the Jacksonville Road Corridor bounded by County Line Road, Jefferson Ave and Windsor Ave and includes Montgomery Ave., Monument Ave., Moreland Ave., Byberry Road and all other streets within these boundaries.

Revitalize means to:              • Rejuvenate the business and commercial areas.

                                                • Improve the residential area

                                                • Upgrade the parks and open areas

                                                • Plan for future expansion

By means of:                          • Streetscaping…more trees and landscaping where possible

                                                • Future addition of sidewalks and street lighting

                                                • Installing New Equipment in Parks and open space…Tanner Park

                                                • Upgrading of streets and intersections.

                                Enforcing Borough Property Maintenance Codes

• Working with Zoning Board and Developers to control types of

  construction and property maintenance.

TANNER PARK is a current project on our list to upgrade. We are currently working with Boro Parks and Rec., Kiwanis Club of Hatboro and Horsham, and the Village Players of Hatboro to improve, not only the playground equipment, but also the entire park. The basketball court has been repaved and painted; new nets are installed. The Boro Parks and Rec has recently installed several new pieces of playground equipment. Much more is to follow.

Recently we have installed a Memorial Walkway from Springdale Ave. down to Village Players Playhouse on Jefferson Ave.  You can help by donating an engraved Walkway Paver at  www.hatboro-pa.com or visit www.mainstreethatboro.net and follow the Elm Street link for more information.  Contact ptafarnen@comcast.net

 ELM Street Hatboro’s Vision

A wide variety of businesses, industry and homes populate the Elm Street area, Because of these characteristics, and its pivotal location in the Borough, the Elm Street program is a unique opportunity for Hatboro to accomplish the following separate, but complementary ,objectives:

Rejuvenate a very active business corridor:

Improve the appearance and function of a major community gateway:

Chart the preservation and development of some prime circulation routes                         to and from the central business district:

Help stabilize older mixed use and residential neighborhoods.

Elm Street plans on working with the Hatboro Borough, Main Street Hatboro, the Hatboro Chamber of Commerce, and the local legislatures to secure a variety of Local, State, Federal, and Montgomery County Grants to fund the infrastructure enhancements, streetscape improvements, open space acquisitions and park facility upgrades.
